Distribution of the first supply of nutrition for the smallest children

05/12/2025

Finally, after a long period of planning and waiting for the right moment and weather, we managed to process the first 250 kg of LISHE – nutritional food for the youngest children. It took some time and effort, but it was worth it. We went to town, carefully selected and purchased all the necessary ingredients, and got to work. We thoroughly sorted, washed, dried in the sun, mixed, took to the mill, and bagged everything. In the meantime, we had to contact mayors and other village representatives, who helped us find and identify the most needy families with small children. Our goal is to regularly supply children aged six months to five years in particular, in order to support their healthy growth and development. It was a little difficult at first, so we "had" to include some older children, but I don't think there's any need to regret it. It's not easy to deny food to older siblings when they're hungry. And it will certainly benefit them too. We'll have to take this into consideration next time.We distributed a total of 50 packages weighing 5 kilograms each. So far, we have selected 30 children for the project, whom we will support on a regular basis. We would like to increase this number to 50.

Along with the baby food, we also supplied the families with rice, beans, sugar, soap, and, some of them, with bananas from our farm. The farm is new, the banana trees are still growing, and the bananas are ripening gradually. In time, we would like to supply children in need and their families with this nutritional bomb as well. Bananas are one of the basic ingredients of African cuisine, but not every family can afford to include them in their diet on a regular basis.
