Nurseries, schools, pupils, students

Supporting pupils, students, nurseries and schools is one of our main goals. The opportunity to attend school is not a given for all children in the world. This is no different in Tanzania. Although the situation in the country has improved significantly in recent years, there are still a huge number of children who do not attend school at all. They are prevented from doing so by a number of obstacles. Tanzania is a huge, vast country. The majority of the population lives in rural areas and remote savannah regions. One of the biggest problems here is distance. The nearest school is often too far away for local children to attend. They often have to set off very early in the morning and walk for up to two hours to get to school. There, many of them spend the whole day hungry and return late in the evening. Many children stay at home and take care of the household, younger siblings, work on farms, herd cattle, or do other work. A large proportion of pupils who complete primary school at the age of 14 do not continue their studies and are forced to join ordinary life. By far the biggest obstacle preventing children from getting an education is money. Uniforms and school fees are literally a ticket to the world of information, knowledge, and better opportunities. And most families cannot afford them. Without uniforms and paid fees, children are simply denied access to school.

We therefore try to help families and children pay school fees and buy uniforms, shoes, school bags, notebooks, and other necessities. Local state nurseries and schools are very simply equipped. Most pupils lack even the most basic equipment such as pencils and notebooks. We therefore purchase notebooks, writing materials, and other equipment for schools to enable, facilitate, and improve teaching. We also supply them with basic ingredients such as corn and beans, which they can use to cook porridge or the typical "student dish MAKANDE" for the children.
